On a hilltop, overlooking the water an arcane pentagram was found. At each of its points was an infernal symbol. Bright light shot upwards from each symbol. At the center lay an unknown sailor, staked down and gutted. It seemed to be a simple blood ritual, the power of which was being drawn into the symbols and made into a bright beacon. The purpose of this beacon seemed to be to call creatures from the water to shore.

A priest of Oghma was able to perform a purification rite to remove the beacon, however, methods such as removing the body and seeing to its rites had no effect and seemed to strengthen the signal.

At the coast, the beacon was clearly visible. Humanoid creatures came en mass from the depths. Their intent is unknown, but previous incident suggests they must feed on living flesh. They seemed sentient, but of low intelligence.

The creatures were followed by larger, reptilian animals. The battle was too hectic to determine their nature. They were larger then humans, greenskinned and appeared to have fish or reptile-like skin. Additionally, creatures which resembled gargoyles in basic form, but broader, with razor-like talons appeared on land. A similar creature was luring travelers off the road in the shape of a boy in earlier incident.

Creatures of devilish origin are apt to be repulsed by the usage of infernal symbols. The creatures seemed to be lesser devils. They did not appear to have been summoned, as upon their death, there was not the shimmer of the border ethereal. If a similar beacon is created, it must be purified by a cleric as soon as possible. It seems the creatures are numerous, and drawn to that specific light. The creatures alone are not overly powerful, but their numbers were overwhelming. It is possible that when the driving force behind them gains in power, they shall as well.
