As I said, I am back. Thanks folks for the kind words. To let you all know what has been happening:

My wife's childhood friend committed suicide. Which is very sad to begin with, but the woman had a very difficult life and, to be honest, I don't know if I could have kept going as long as she had.

Two divorces, one abusive husband, sister and brother-in-law killed in a car wreck and she adopted thier two kids. She had one of her own - a boy. He was not given enough oxygen in the hospital when he was born and ended up with only 20% cognitive function. So he was never able to learn how to crawl, was blind and deaf. He was eight when she killed herself. And on top of all that, she went to jail for three months for writing bad paper to buy an attachment to put on her van so she can get her kid to the hospital easier.

Anyway, wife took it rather hard and so I took some time off to be at her beck and call. Of course she went through the sadness in her passing, anger in how she died and then guilt for feeling anger... throughout it, she hardly needed me, but I was there just in case..

Now she is pretty much back to 'normal' life, and so am I.
