www.arelith.com urls are broken with "account suspended" page
Project:The World of Arelith
Component:Website
Category:support request
Priority:normal
Assigned:Unassigned
Status:closed
Description
As the subject says. Yesterday evening (UK time) the "www.arelith.com" URLs started failing for me, redirecting to an "account suspended" page:

http://www.arelith.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi

"arelith.com" (without the initial "www.") still works fine.

My primary forum bookmark uses the "www." address and has been working without problem until yesterday.

That's most likely your hosts file.

Windows users: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Linux/Mac (I think) users: /etc/hosts

Open the file with a text editor and remove anything to do with arelith.com or www.arelith.com.

There's really not a lot we can do our end: Jess' account with her old host, GreenGeeks, has expired and will not be renewed due to their complete and utter suckiness. If you're overriding the DNS check (which is what the hosts file does) and assuming it's the old IP address still, you'll get pointed to a website we have no control over.
I have often been told "the DMs don't care". What people fail to realize is that the DMs never reveal the details of any punitive actions taken, other than to those said actions are taken against. If a tree falls and nobody is around to hear it...

D'oh, of course, I'd completely forgotten I had that entry; deleted, and fixed, as expected. Thanks!
